God Rest You Merry, Gentlemen Vintage Hymn Wood Frame Farmhouse Decor Christmas Sign Music Page

$25.00

This 7.5X5.5 handmade wood framed vintage hymn is the perfect addition to floating shelves, a mantle, an end table next to a couch, hanging on a gallery wall~your faith on display. A thoughtful housewarming Christmas gift. This vintage hymn can be a special reminder of the times you spent in church, songs your granparents sang, or just a reminder of your faith.

Each hymn is vintage. Each one is unique. It is taken from a 1960’s hymnal which guarantees it to have all the wonderful character that only something valued and treasured can have. All pages show some wear. There may be small tears on edges that are glued down so that it will not ruin the hymn, small folds on the corners. Some hymns can be slightly off center as the pages were not precisely printed on the page. I will do the best as I can to keep them in the condition in which they were found because there is so much beauty in that.

It came upon the midnight clear,
That glorious song of old,
From angels bending near the earth
To touch their harps of gold!
Peace on the earth, good will to men,
From heaven's all gracious King!
The world in solemn stillness lay
To hear the angels sing.

Still through the cloven skies they come
With peaceful wings unfurled
And still their heavenly music floats
O'er all the weary world;
Above its sad and lowly plains
They bend on hovering wing.
And ever o'er its Babel sounds
The blessed angels sing.

Yet with te woes of sin and strife
The world hath suffered long;
Beneath the angel-strain have rolled
Two thousand years of wrong;
And man, at war with man, hears not
The love song which they bring:
O hush the noise, ye men of strife,
And hear the angels sing.

For lo! the days are hastening on,
By prophet bards foretold,
When, with the ever-circling years,
Shall come the Age of Gold;
When peace shall over all the earth
Its ancient splendors fling,
And all the world give back the song
Which now the angels sing.
